Policies for Students and Parents
Cancellations *
If you need to cancel or reschedule, I require 3 hours’ notice. Failure to provide advance notice will result in a NO SHOW charge of your normal session price unless otherwise noted. I will wait 15 minutes past the start of your lesson for you before I consider you a “No Show.” No-show fee is $50. Late fee is $50. Tuition is due on Fridays.
I agree to cancel a session if my child comes home from school sick. I acknowledge that I have TWO “grace appointments” in which I can cancel without notice at no penalty due to child illness or other emergency per year.
I agree that if I cancel 3 consecutive appointments, I will lose my regularly scheduled appointment time to a student on the waiting list.
I agree that if I need to cancel 3 consecutive appointments, I will pay $50 per appointment to keep my regularly scheduled appointment time.
Borrowing Books and Materials
I agree to return any textbooks or materials loaned.
I agree that I will pay for any books or materials that are lost or not returned and that Western Branch Tutoring may automatically charge me for any lost materials should I fail to pay within 14 days of the requested return.
I agree that all books and materials will be returned at the end of the school year or course, whichever comes first.
After-Hours Help *
I agree that I may contact my child’s tutor in between lessons at no additional charge between the hours of 9am and 9pm via text, phone call, email, or shared Google Doc/Sheet/Presentation/Etc..
I agree to give my tutor two hours to respond to messages between lessons.
I agree to give my tutor 48 hours (business days) to proof-read an essay (no additional charge). Typed work MUST be emailed or shared via Google Drive to [email protected]. Handwritten work should be shared during lessons or scanned and emailed to [email protected].
Payments and Billing *
I agree to submit payment at the time of services. Tuition is due no later than Fridays.
I understand that if my account is not current, Western Branch Tutoring will cancel all future lessons within 24 hours and I may lose my appointment time indefinitely.
I understand that Western Branch Tutoring does not require any long-term commitments and that I can cancel future lessons at any time (please see Cancellations policies).
I understand that pre-paid lessons do not expire and can be used by anyone in a single household. I will receive a 10% discount for prepaying each month for a minimum of 4 lessons at a time.
I agree that I must speak with Jessica Schneider, owner, if I need to put lessons on hold for any reason. I understand that I may lose my regularly scheduled appointment time.
I agree to keep valid payment on file, prior to the start of our first lesson. Rates start at $40 for individual tutoring and $20 per hour for group tutoring, per student. I understand that I can purchase lessons in advance for a discount.
I understand that I can use code MILITARYTEACHER for 5% off if I am active or retired duty military, a teacher, medical staff, or first responder for more than one month of lessons. Proof of service/occupation may be requested.
I understand that Western Branch Tutoring accepts all major credit cards, Venmo, and Paypal funds.
Lesson Reminders and Communication *
I understand that I will receive verbal confirmation for my next lesson at the conclusion of my current lesson. I will NOT receive any reminders for my next appointment. I understand that it is my responsibility to know when my weekly recurring appointment will be.
I acknowledge that I must communicate if I am having any problem with Western Branch Tutoring in a timely fashion so that that issue can be addressed.
I understand that I can request written confirmation of my next appointment during face-to-face, in-person appointments.
If I qualify for Free Friday Tutoring, I understand that I will NOT receive appointment reminders and that it is my responsibility to be on-time to my lesson. I understand that if I do not show up, I will forfeit services for that week.
ADA Compliance, Anti-Discrimination and Privacy Statement *
Western Branch Tutoring and sole-proprietor Jessica Schneider do not intentionally discriminate against any student, parent or family for any reason.
Western Branch Tutoring requests disability and school history information to serve your student more effectively, but you are not required to share this information. This information will be retained under double lock and key and will not be shared with anyone without your explicit, written request. This includes (but is not limited to): family members, teachers or school administrators, neighbors, childcare providers, etc.
Western Branch Tutoring does not sell or share any of your information for any reason. We do not contact schools or teachers unless you specifically ask that we do.
Western Branch Tutoring does not share or advertise any relationship with any client.
Western Branch Tutoring welcomes feedback at any time.
Western Branch Tutoring does not take photos of clients. Images collected by Western Branch Tutoring are property of Western Branch Tutoring and may be redistributed if and only if credit is given properly.
Western Branch Tutoring reserves the right to refuse services to any client who engages in harassing, threatening or discriminatory behavior toward any member of our staff. *
